About Purusartha Karki: The Vision Behind the Mission
Purusartha Karki is the Founder and Managing Director of Katmatic Solutions. With over 15 years of experience in Australia and a strong foundation in engineering, he returned to Nepal with a vision—to use technology as a force for inclusive progress.
Katmatic began as a platform focused on inventory tracking systems and visitor management, offering efficient, RFID-enabled solutions for organizations. Over time, this core expertise naturally expanded into education—developing a smart attendance system for students, tailored to Nepal’s unique needs.
While installing the first system at Haleshwor Secondary School in Dolakha, a well-supported model and technical school near the Tibet border, Puru noticed a clear disparity. Three other schools in the same region were operating under far more challenging conditions, with limited funding and minimal access to digital tools.
This experience became a turning point. It reinforced the need to ensure that technology isn’t limited to urban or well-funded institutions, but reaches under-resourced communities that need it most.
Through Katmatic, Puru is now working to bridge that gap—bringing reliable, affordable tech to schools across rural Nepal, starting with those three.
